It almost goes without saying that motivation is one of the building blocks of the teaching and learning process. An excellent teacher would be well equipped with various techniques to motivate students.
There are many methods that you can use to motivate your students; from asking questions to setting high expectations; from hands-on activities to spreading positivity in the classroom, and the list goes on and on. Yet, one of the most important character traits that you should adopt and practice with your students is respect. Students wouldn’t feel motivated if they don’t feel respected.
Always respect your students. Even when you disagree with them, treat them respectfully. Never insult or make fun of them. Teach them respect by respecting them first.

لست من الأشخاص الذين يظهرون مشاعرهم و بنفس الوقت لا اخجل منها بل أعتز بها، لذلك كتبت
كنت سائماً متسائلاً عن جدوى ما نصنع، لكنّ همس أبي يلاحقني دائماً " إذا بدأتَ بشيء فأنهه، و إذا صنعته فأتقنه" وهو ماجعلني استمر في هذا التعب الذي بدأت به، و اراه بلا معنى، لكن… وبعد الثانية عشر الملتهبة و تحديداً عندما نادى منادي لتجميع الاطفال؛ ذهبت أرى من تخلف منهم، فصادفني اول بريء منهم - بريءٌ ظالم، ظلمتني براءته ظلمتني نظراته ظلمتني حياته - وعندما قلت له انضم إلى الأطفال إنهم يلعبون هناك، تطايرت الفرحة من عيونه وانطلق مسرعاً، مسرعاً مثل دموعي، وبسمته وصلت قلبي قبل شفتيه. نسيت كدي وتعبي و عملي؛ نسيت نفسي؛
فوالله لو أن كل ما صنعته كان فداءَ ضحكته لأرضاني ذلك
لأرضاني فرحه المقرون بتلك الثواني المعدودات
لأرضاني ذلك البريق المشع من عينيه
و ذلك النور الساطع من وجهه
وتلك العفوية النابعة من قلبه .
بل هي كثيرٌ كثير …
والله ما همني لا الطعام و لا الشراب
ولا قدر التبرعات و لا كمها
والله ماهمني سوى فرحهم و هم يتساقطون حينما خسروا بشد الحبل
وكانهم جمعوا فلسفة الدنيا بصوت ضحكهم
يضحكون بوجه الهزيمة وهم يتحدونها - والله ماهمنا -
وما أعجبني مما صنع كل طلابنا إلا صرخات
تشجيعهم لهم وحماسهم بهم
وما أحببت طلاب الجامعة الموقرين إلا
حينا نزعوا جلد الوقار و المهابة وطاحوا بينهم
و ارتموا بين أحضانهم
أدركت حينها كذب من افترى علينا وقال أن
الرجل العربي جلف المشاعر معدومها
كان ذلك يوم
وحياتي كلها ايام مغايرة
والله لقد ظلمونا
بالله لقد ظلمونا
بحسنهم بمحبتهم بروحهم
شكرا لهم على دموع هَمت
كانت سوف تتحجر في مدامعنا
بعض الناس همُ الشمسُ بغير نارٍ
يَرُدوا روحَ من ما له روحُ
لهم سرٌ في قلوبهم طغا بغير ظلمٍ
ملء الوجودِ. وهنا به نبوحُ
عطاءُ حُبٍ و دفءُ قلبٍ ورقةُ روحٍ
كعزفِ نايٍ، بل أزيدُ
هم قمرٌ و مطرٌ و همُ الناسُ
و الأُنَاسُ قَليلُ
برؤيتهم فهمتُ قول المصطفى
بمسح الرأس لكم روضةٌ و نعيمُ

لكل شخصٍ لغتُه الخاصة في التعبير عن حبه .لكن للشعراء و الأدباء نكهةٌ خاصةٌ دائماً في التعبير عن مشاعرهم، فقد دخلوا في مكنونات الروح الإنسانية و استخرجوا معانيها الروحية . قال بيغوفيتش " ستظل الثقافة تعنى بعلاقة الإنسان بتلك السماء التي هبطنا منها " أي أنّ ثقافتَنا بما تحتويه من رواياتٍ و كتبٍ و أشعارٍ و مسرحياتٍ … سماوية . وعبّر تميم عنها بقول آخر " هي بحث عن السماء في الارض " .
وفي زمان نعيشه الآن اصبحت الأسماء مستهلكة بشكل مبالغ فيه، وفقدت الكلمات معانيها من أخوة و صداقة. وأهم معنى فُقد هو الحب. فالحب فَقد أسمى معانيه بيننا وفَقد هيبته و لَمعانه و بريقه في قلوب المحبين. فأصبح مجرد لفظٍ يُطلق بين ذكر و أنثى مهما كان مستوى العلاقة بينهما .
العقاد عبّر عن الحب بقوله " أن يميز الرجل المرأة لا لشيء إلا لأنها هي هي"
وانظر إلى وصفِ نزارٍ للحبِ حين قال:
الحب ليس روايةً شرقيةً بختامها يتزوج الأبطال
بل هو الإبحار دون سفيةٍ وشعورنا أن الوصولَ محال
هو أن تظل على الأصابع رعشة
وعلى الشفاه المطبقات سؤال
هو أن نثور لأي شي تافه
هو يأسنا هو شكنا القتال
هو هذه الكف التي تغتالنا
ونقبّل الكف التي تغتال
لوهلة يراها بعض البشر كلماتٍ لا معنى لها أو صفاتٍ تُطلق كالطير في السماء أو ذات معنى فلسفي ليس لنا دخل فيه ،لكن انظر إليها مرة اخرى بقلبك لا بعيونك، واستخرج لمساتها الروحية من بين حروفها. أضيف هنا كلامه ايضا
" فإذا وقفت امام حبك صامت فالصمت في حرم الجمال جمال
كلماتنا في الحب تقتل حبنا إنّ الحروف تموت حين تُقال "
وفعلاً ماتتِ الحروفُ بصوت هذه المرأة وبوحها، في حين عاش حبها في صمته و طوله أجيالاً
"الحُبُّ ما مَنَعَ الكَلامَ الأَلسُنا وَأَلَذُّ شَكوى عاشِقٍ ما أَعلَنا "

يرحل الجميع وتبقى أنت. تنظر إليّ وأنظر إليك. هل أراكَ حقاً، أم أضحيتَ جزءاً من خيالي؟ أراكَ حين تكون أمامي، أو عندما لا تكون خلفي. فقدتُ كلَّ أحاسيسي. أعطيتك كلَّ مشاعري، حتى صار الشعور من الماضي. لم أدرك قيمة حبي، ولم تدرك قيمة وجودي. اختفيتُ مع اختفائكَ. ناجيتك في سرّي ووددت لو تسمعني. لكنك لم تسمعني حين ناديتكَ بأعلى صوتي، فكيف تسمعني عندما أهمس لكَ في حلمي؟ لستُ ذات اللسان الطليق، ولا من ذوات الشعر الأشقر الطويل. أنا فريدةٌ من نوعي، أحب الصمت ولو لم يكن دوري.
أمسكت ورقتي لأكتب ما في خاطري، فوجدتُ قلبي معتصماً عن الشعور. كيف يكتب الإنسان إن لم يكن له قلبٌ يميل؟ أتقلّب في سريري كل ليلة وفي خاطري ألف سؤال. كيف للشعراء أن يكتبوا قصائد حبٍّ لحبيباتهم؟ كيف يعرفون شعور الحب؟ كيف للإنسان أن يحب أحداً؟ ظننت أنني سأعرف هذه الأجوبة عندما أكبر. ها أنا قد كبرت ولم أجد جوابي. ربما لن أجد جوابي. سؤال آخر علق في خاطري. هل يجد الإنسان جوابه عندما يكبر، أم يكبر عند معرفة جوابه؟ فالطفل ببراءته يسأل، والمُسنُّ بحكمته وهدوئه يُجيب.
بقيتَ أنتَ يا صاحب الظلِّ، ببرود وهدوء، تمضي ولا تعود. ذهبت أنا حين ذهبتَ أنتَ. وحين أعود أنا، هل ستعود أنت؟

What Does Research Say?
In a study published in the Science Direct (2021), researchers have concluded that viewing short videos recommended by (TikTok) have led to “addiction-like undesired behaviors”. The study found that those personalized recommended videos caused changes in the brain and “were related to lower self-control ability in young adults”. The researchers have observed how the parts of the brain involved in addiction were stimulated and activated as the participants in the study watched short (TikTok) videos repeatedly. Additionally, the International Journal of Adolescence and Youth (2020) published a systematic review of articles investigating the relationship between social media use and mental health problems. Most of the studies reviewed found strong correlations between adolescents’ excessive use of social media and mental health issues like depression and anxiety. One study even found a significant relation between the number of social media accounts and the level of anxiety someone has “due to the overwhelming demand” to multitask and keep up with all the accounts. Yet another warning came this time from the classroom. Associate Professor Greg Wrenn, from James Madison Universe.

Jane Eyre is one of my favorite novels/movies. Not only was it written by Charlotte Bronte back in 1847, but it was also recognized way after she died. The famous Jane Eyre movie narrates the tale of the orphan little girl Jane, who was an outcast for most of her life. The tale of this girl truly amazed me, for she had endured so much pain, sorrow, and still continued her life like the strong girl she is. While on her adventure, she meets the charming Mr Rochester, who ends up having too many secrets kept from poor Jane. This movie contains a rollercoaster of emotions and plot twists. I would definitely recommend this movie for individuals who are into classics, drama, and love a little bit of Mr. Darcy and pride and prejudice.
